Domino - Though it is an 80s movie, Fox is not in it.

Retro - Yes, the kids are the heroes :)

I think we might have a winner.  I googled it, and by GOD that car is ugly.

Then again, Mark Hammill is in it, so it can't be all bad :)

He is the super-bad-guy, so he is fast.

As SOON as the dialog ends, he begins to attack you.  There is no timer issue, you have 2 full seconds to react to each phase of this encounter.

Spoiler
If you listen closely, there is always a hint as to what he is doing, or what kind of spell he is casting.
[close]

Phase 1 Hint
Spoiler
He is casting something directly at you.  It will hurt if he finishes casting it.
[close]

Phase 1 Spoiler
Spoiler
Cast your shield spell to protect yourself.
[close]

---

Phase 2 Hint
Spoiler
He is going around the direct damage spell protection.  An area-of-effect spell.
[close]

Phase 2 Spoiler
Spoiler
He is removing the ground from below you.  Teleport yourself to another place on the screen.
[close]

---

Phase 3 Hint
Spoiler
He is going to squish you with a rock.  Maybe try to stop him.
[close]

Phase 3 Spoiler
Spoiler
Use your Far Hands spell on the rock.
[close]

----

Now he is doubled over in pain, stunned.

Phase 4 Hint
Spoiler
He is immune to all direct attacks. The key word is "Attack".  Look at his robe maybe, for a  hint?
[close]

Phase 4 Spoiler
Spoiler
Cast your growth spell at his robe.  It has a bunch of vines interwoven in it.  Not a good way to go :)

Thanks,

Bill

Shadow, you likely have an older version of the game.  The initial release had a bug in it where you could use the rock when Vaektor wasn't in the screen.  That has been fixed in the version now downloadable (which it sounds like Rutitah has, since he can't use it).

Shadow and Rutitah, to defeat the elf, you're on the right track, using a magic spell.  You'll need to maybe try another one.  Feel free to experiment.  Each spell has a different effect.  Maybe one will work where another will not.

**Edit**

Let me clarify to lessen any frustration.  You'll need to use a magic spell:

Spoiler
On the elf, not something else on the screen.

For a total and complete spoiler of what to do :

Spoiler
You need to teleport yourself into the elf.  Let's just say 2 things can't occupy the same space at the same time.

Hmmm... Not sure what to tell you about that.  The path through is there and is working.  Maybe you went one too many screens or something?  Nobody else has gotten stuck on it.  There is a difinitive path through.

Thanks,

Bill.

Yes eventually I got through. It is a matter of luck to find the hotspot to pass into the next cave room. I found going through the cave rooms was painful, all the other rooms are fine. I am running Win7, either in window mode or full screen  mode.

I am haven trouble fighting Vaektor. Just a split second to do something and everything fails; just once - not sure what I did - then he crushed me. I saw a hint for that...

A hint please? Can we slow the game down?

Thanks, TassieDevil

No, no way to slow the game down.  You've got to be quick.  You're fighting a really bad dude, so he is fast.

You have exactly 2 seconds for each 'phase' of this encounter.  Each phase requires you to use a different method.  The rock crushing you can be avoided if you stop it.  I left hints earlier in this thread about it.

Thanks!

Are anyone make a walkthrough please.
I think Leon are too busy to make walkthroughs for his website !

I can provide hints.  I wrote the game, so I know how to solve all the puzzles :)  Are you having a problem anywhere in particular?

Thanks,

Bill

i need some help, i think i am near the end of the game because i'm fighting

Spoiler
the general of the unseelie court
[close]

But the problem is this one. I don't know what to do after

Spoiler
i gave him back the stone he wanted to use to crush me
[close]

I tried almost everything and i keep dying. Any hint please ?

Congrats on making it to the end of the game :)

For that puzzle, have you tried looking at all options available to you?

Hint:
Spoiler
Maybe looking more closely at Vaektor will give you a hint as to what you can do.
[close]

More direct hint:
Spoiler
You need to cast a certain spell at him which will affect him.  Your direct attack spell doesn't work, but how about indirect?
[close]

Spoiler:
Spoiler
Cast the growth spell at him.  His robe is infused with vines, and they act like the vines in the floor-puzzle room.

TassieDevil, I am so sorry...  You are going to hate me...

The version you downloaded was broken.  I accidentally left that auto-skip portion in there jumping to a later point in the game while troubleshooting something.  (Fix-file is attached below without needing an entire re-download of the game, so don't worry.)

You aren't supposed to begin there.  But you DID solve the puzzle, the colors.  Sorry I didn't take color blindness into account when making the puzzle :(  To solve it, click the following:

Spoiler

Left Block : 3 Times
Middle Block : 2 Times
Right Block : 3 Times

Now, to fix the problem, and begin the game normally, please download the .exe file and overwrite the existing one.  Sorry again for the confusion :(

Fixed .exe file for bugged v1.10 version (8mb) : Click here for fix-file.

Wait a sec...  Are you saying that when you begin the game the very first room you're in is the cave  puzzle room?

If so I might've left in a debug thng from the last fix I had to do...  Let me know.

I will be back on my pc in about 20 mins and can get you the panel code by clicks.

Thanks,

Bill

@Cogliostro:

I think you're just one step before that. There is a location where you can go.
Spoiler
The dark tile in front of the left gate. Teleport yourself to this spot and then follow Bill's hints.

Actually, you can go to the left or right one. :)

You're thinking on too grand of a scale.  Get back to basics.

Hint:
Spoiler
Do you have anything in your inventory that might help?

Stronger Hint:
Spoiler
Did you thoroughly explore your cell?  Maybe a previous tenant lost something...

Spoiler Hint Part 1:
Spoiler
Check the hay bail in your cell more than once.

Spoiler Hint Part 2:
Spoiler
When you look at your new jewelry, it says it is basically falling apart.  Use it to finish the job.

Step-By-Step Spoiler:
Spoiler
Use the pile of hay in your cell 3 times.  Then Use the brooch you find.  You'll get a set of pins.  Use the pins to pick the lock on the door.

Bill -

That's a good touch for Gary.

Now...
Spoiler

Stuck in the caves.  Got past Clef.  Wander aimlessly.  Anytime I accidentally backup I repeat the conversation with Clef.  What's the path through the maze?  Or is there somethign I'm supposed to do?

[close]

It isn't random, there is a specific way you're supposed to do this puzzle:

Tip 1:
Spoiler
Remember Cliona telling you the story of Oisis in her shop?
[close]

Tip2:
Spoiler
There is a picture in her shop, on the wall, which might shed some light on this.  It tells the story of Oisis, and his traversing the Path to the Land of Youth.
[close]

Spoiler:
Spoiler
The picture on the wall has red letters for the beginnings of each word.  These correspond to the path through the maze.  U = up, D = Down, R = Right, L = left.
[close]

Step-By-Step Instructions:
Spoiler
Right, Right, Down, Right, Up, Up, Right, Up, Left, Left, Left, Up, Right, Up.
[close]

I will go back and look at Gary's scripting.  He shouldn't be in the cave after the initial conversation with him.  You might've found a glitch that made it past the beta testers and myself.

**EDIT** - Yup, you sure did.  I fixed the script and put another new version online.  Thanks!

Thanks,

Bill

Yes, like Leon pointed out there.

I didn't want it to be brain-deadeningly simple to get the roses (like talking to a florist).  And being as how Gary is very "metal", with the black eyeliner and spiked hair, I figured that rose would be more 'his style'.

Oh, and the rationalle behind the missing piece of evidence mentioned earlier in this thread (not mentioning it by name because it would be a spoiler), that abandoned warehouse is where one of the bodies was found.  Looks like the local police missed an important piece of evidence.

My ignorance in the field of streaming things online has bothered me for ages but I've been too lazy to post about it. There's quite a lot I want to know, since I find it all very fascinating.

1.) When a video streams, what exactly is going on? Is the computer simply taking bits of information at a time and storing them temporarily as they play, or is it actually relying entirely on another computer and just acting as a medium in which to show you?

2.)Similar to the question above, how does...well, everything else work? As far as pictures and such... when you access a website with pictures and text, are the pictures and text temporarily saved to your computer while you view them? Or does the explorer simply show you pictures and text stored on another computer without the need to temporarily store them? Does this process vary depending on the file medium?

Sorry for packing so many questions into one post but my fundamental misunderstanding of how the internet works has been driving me crazy lately.

1)  The data is sent as usual, but in sequential order.  This means the software can interpret it as it comes in, and play it live.  It doesn't have to download the entire thing to use it.

2) Anything you load is saved to your "Temporary Internet Files", a folder on your computer.  The browser uses that to display the site you're looking at.  If there is no update since last time you visited, it just reads that data instead of retransferring it again.

So yeah, nothing is ever done in a web browser without being downloaded to your PC first.  Unless I am missing some new technology, but I don't think so :)

Interesting reads..  I will be doing a RPG (began planning it out today), and I have pretty extensive experience in various programming languages, including C, so this isn't all that daunting.  However, I am unaware of any way to get back to the game after a fight...

For instance :

Meet a hostile creature and go to room 100 (the fight room)

room 100 has the fight script.  If the EGO loses, they go to screen 101 (the death script).

But if they win, is there a command I can use to return them to the last place they just were in the game before they loaded room 100 for the fight?  I couldn't find anything on this in a search.

Thanks,

Bill Garrett
