Let's go.

Edit: just realized that the previous image I posted can be found through google image search, so I uploaded a new one.

Oh yeah, just catching up, and that's a really fun track, Laura. I dig it. It reminds me a little bit of a band my sister got me into:

Pretty cool! Not a band I can see myself going back to often, but it made me curious enough to check out a few more of their tracks, so thanks for that!

Listening to them I also found myself thinking of Queen Adreena for some reason, even though the styles aren't really that similar. But there's definitely a common vibe there somewhere:

Oh, among my friends it's a pretty common conversation starter, hahah (I was just chatting to a friend right now about that time some skinheads started shouting Sieg Heil during a neofolk concert and we were like wait, so these guys are for real? Ah, those were the days). Maybe you just don't hang around the right people :-D

Still, as far as STD-and-related songs, nothing can beat this!
(Better audio here, but the cover/thumbnail is very much NSFW!)

Um let me quote myself: "where do you find this stuff?" (laugh) Wow, thanks that was a lovely unexpected detour.

Back in my goth clubbing days I used to hang out with a bunch of hackers that were really into EBM and electro industrial... Velvet Acid Christ, KMFDM, Front Line Assembly, Clock DVA, Skinny Puppy, stuff like that, and they introduced me to a lot of... let's say fringe stuff :-D

Well done, Slasher! That is exactly right! I hadn't seen any Bollywood movies in this thread so I decided to throw one in. My next picture was going to be from one of the scenes set in Istanbul, just to mess with Laura...

:P :P :P

Actually the protagonist reminded me a lot more of Rainswept than Darkside Detective. But I really like the art style! The crayon-like aesthetic has a very strong German Expressionist vibe, especially in the last two screenshots (we do have a very similar figure in our game to the one hanging by those red threads, hahah). Really looking forward to seeing where this is going!

(And The Last Door is so good! Happy to meet another fan ;-D)

I'm going to be so embarrassed if this does turn out to be a Turkish movie :-D

The guy on the left looks like Adam Scott, but I'm guessing this is an Irish movie (the guys with drums and bagpipes at the back and, oh I don't know, the whole hurling gear). That's all I've got, though...

I think all those things are Scottish.

Bagpipes are a traditional instrument in most regions of Celtic heritage, not just Scotland but also Ireland and even Galicia and Asturias in Spain. (Also Greece and Turkey, but I don't think this movie is from either of those countries :P)

And like milkanannan said, hurling is most definitely Irish.

(Edit: just did a quick search and that's apparently the uniform of the Kilkenny hurling team, so I guess the movie is specifically set in Kilkenny? Still no idea of the title though.)

Taipan! Absolutely adored that game on the Speccy!  ;-D

Oh wow, and I even made sure to show a not-too-obvious screenshot, hahah. Yeah, it was a fantastic game! I remember that my tiny brain was amazed at the time at how complex it was with all the trading and the strategies you had to come up with to buy stuff in one place and sell it somewhere else in order to make a profit, buy better ships and hire more crew (although you always had the possibility to just clobber them over the head and drag them to your ship, lol), as well as how many different factors and resources you had to juggle. I sank a LOT of hours into this one.

Alright then! Over to you again, Captain :)

Speccy version I take it, Laura?

Did it still sound like this?

Hahaha, polyphony? On the Speccy? lol :-D

THIS is how it sounded like... Behold, the BEEP command in all its glory:

This is one of the very very very few games that still held up for me when I played it decades later on an emulator. The progression system in particular was fantastic!

I'll post something later tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest :)

I've had Knives Out sitting on my hard drive for quite a bit, because I really need to be in the right mood to sit through a whole movie without getting distracted, but this really makes me want to watch it at last. Maybe I'll do it tonight!

WATCH IT! RIGHT NOW! We must create a new thread just talking about this movie!

Hahaha I'll try!

Huh, it just dawned on me how few Russian bands I know, especially compared to how many amazing Russian classical composers I'm familiar with. I've heard some stuff by Kino, I only know Leningrad exist because they recorded an album with the Tiger Lillies, and I like Elena Kamburova a lot, but... that's about it! I'm actually shocked that I don't know any Russian metal bands! (even Ð'АТЮШКА are not Russian, but Polish).

I do love myself a good Russian waltz, though (hums Ochi Chernye to herself.)

Totally feeling it! That three beat guitar pulsing in the background mid-song (cue air guitar and air head banging (laugh))

I know exactly which part you're talking about :-D
