Sorry I couldn't really help.  :-\ In a fit, you could always download the individual images and put a small Flash movie together by hand, or something.

No, it works from Germany.

However, looking at the video and especially the source code of the page*... I'm not sure if this is something you CAN download. As far as I can see, the "movie" is generated from the pictures in the gallery - they're just enlargened and only parts are shown, creating the impression of a "video".

I might be mistaken, though.

(*Specifically, the slightly strange URL to the link. flash/moviegallery.swf?imageinfo=27,80140978,http://www.justcarwebsites.com/~donreidford/,flash/,blank.mp3,flash/background.png looks suspiciously like a general-purpose video generation file taking some arguments.)

The framework is backwards compatible i think, so you should be ok.

Thanks... any idea of a site thats non Microsoft that I can get it from?

Also any idea why the worlds biggest software company can't keep their website up and running? Or is microsoft.com completely defunct now?

http://www.microsoft.com/en/us/default.aspx seems to be up again.

I'm going to not make any horrible money-related puns and instead just wish 1$ a happy birthday. That's your present, by the way.  :P

Saturday Morning Watchmen!

Strong together, united forever, they're the best of friiieeends,
but when troubles about, you'd best watch out, for the watchmeeeen!
Nite Owl is their leader, and he loves to party down,
Rorschach's friend to the animals,
Yeah, when he's not clowning around (I'm nutty!)

And so on. It really is awesome.  ;)

So he has been dead for some point and isn't right now, but the causes of these effects are now non-canon?

Also, I realise this is pretty off-topic, but I think a Crisis On Infinite Rons would be spiffy, since what you're doing here is basically one huge continuity reboot. Anyone up for that?  ;)

So now Davy Jones' death hasn't happened after all? All that retconning is getting confusing, I tells ya.

And while you're at it, ask them to bring back the Coding Competition, too.  ;)

I've recently been playing a fair few 'Escape the Room' games.  They are quite handy for people who want a quick point n click fix but don't have a lot of spare time.

How about we have either:

a) a monthly/weekly/fortnightly 'Escape the Room' contest where the winner of each contests sets the next theme, as per most other contests or...

b)We have a long running thread wherewe can all can submit Escape the Room games as and when we like and keep an updated list in the first post.

I quite like the sound of 'b'.  This way is is more 'activity' than 'competition' and can be on going.  Also it would be could practise for people who want to concentrate on the puzzle element of their games rather than getting bogged down with backgound art.

Any takers?

Count me in.

And I have a strategy game planned in mind, but unfortunately, you cannot directly create characters in AGS, so I'm having a bit of a problem there, but it should be solvable with pointers. However, it'll either be RAM-wasteriffic or overloaded with cleanup and checking routines (e.g. before declaring a new pointer, check all pointers for null value and take the one with the lowest index).

I think I never introduced myself, so I'm doing it now... nearly a year late. So, um, hi. You're not getting any more personal information.  :=
#14
I don't know if it counts, but AGS is mentioned in the Game Programming wiki (http://www.gpwiki.org/index.php/Tools:Programming), under Game Authoring Tools.
#15
So *this* is where the thread went. I was starting to wonder... ah, anyway. Fits better here.
#16
I guess because it's simply, well, funny. Even for Germans, and you know what they say about German humor (lies). Congratulations, anyway.

They often put Freeware on their CD/DVD... I guess it's mainly as a 'space-filler', or one of them is one of us (a member of the AGS community)... anyway, I guess all of us include a link to the AGS website in their games, so this will at least help AGS getting even more popular.

Linus Bruckmann has ridiculously high system requirements, that's all.

Nope, Force Majeure is some kind of side-scroller.

Also, in an interesting but probably unrelated fact, the magazine kept mentioning this website. You'll probably want to go there, you'll be positively surprised by the Navigation Bar at the top of the page...

/EDIT: Oh, and I think you're meaning a different game, not "A Game with A Kitty 2: Darkside Adventures", are you?

Congratulations to the authors of Duty and Beyond and Spooks! Your games appear on the DVD XL of March's 'GameStar' issue, a - quite decent and professional, IMHO - german games-related magazine.
